Are you trying to do your own SEO but are becoming frustrated because you're just not understanding all the technical jargon and the Geek Speak that comes with a search engine optimisation campaign?

Well if so you're not alone and I have the answer for you.

Hi, I'm Shane Walker and a lot of the feedback we've been getting lately from our SEO training is that although people think it's really good and detailed, they're getting confused with a lot of the technical jargon and the terms that are used in the SEO world.

We've also had quite a number of people now ask us if we could create an SEO fundamentals series so they could really understand each topic from the ground up. So that's why I've decided to create our SEO basics series.

This SEO beginners series is going to be done as a series of blog posts. It's going to be available on our blog and there's going to be no opt-in required at all.

So you can just come along you can read and you can learn a lot about the foundations and the fundamentals of SEO. Here is just some of the topics that we're going to be going through in our beginner SEO training series.

We're going to go through On Page SEO. We're going to go through what it is and why it matters to you, and how you can improve it. We're going to have a look at Off Page SEO, we're going to go through similar things but we're going to start right at the basics.

I'm going to explain what it is, and different versions of Off Page SEO or different variants and how it can help your website rank in the search engines.

SEO For Beginners

We'll go in depth into content marketing, starting at the ground and working up. I'll explain what content marketing is, why you should be doing it and if you're not I really recommend that you should.

As well as how it will help you again rank in the search engines and get more visitors to your website. We'll have a look at Google, we'll talk about what Google does, why they do it. We'll talk about search engine spiders. We'll talk about crawlability of a website. All the things that are related to Google and the other search engines.

Because at the end of the day if you're not understanding what it is that Google does, and why why it does it then you're going to have a lot harder time ranking a website in the search engines. Because you're not going to be giving Google what it is that they want to see.

We're going to go through search intent. What is search intent and why it matters.

We'll have a look at the site structure. What site structure is why it's important to you and ho can increase your rankings if it's done correctly.

We'll have a look at HTTP's as opposed to HTTP and which one works best. We'll look at user signals, what user signals are, why they're important to you and how you can improve them.

We'll have a look at ranking signals. Ranking signals are the things that Google and the other search engines look at and that they want to see if they're going to rank your website in the search engines.

SEO Basics

We'll talk about permalink structures, what they are and why they're important. We'll have a look at rich snippets. We'll also look at structured data and we'll go through a lot of terms that are now becoming very common in the SEO world like UX.

What is UX, well it's user experience. We will go through what is your user experience and why it's important to you. So that's just some of the topics that we're going to cover on our SEO basics series.

So if you're not already on our list what you need to do is. Depending on where you're watching this, you might be watching this on Facebook, YouTube or on our blog. Or you might even be listening to this on our podcast.

So have a look either above or below where you're looking at and you'll see a link that will take you through where you can opt in. What will happen then is if you opt in you'll be notified automatically of each episode as we release it.

But if not you can just come back as I said there's no optin actually required. You can come back and they'll be on the blog and you can come back and read and check regularly back to the blog.

But my advice is that you opt-in and then you'll be kept in the loop and we'll let you know.

So until next time I'm Shane Walker and we’ll talk soon.
