And a very big welcome to episode one of the Marketing Mayhem Show. I’m your host, Shane Walker, and firstly I’d like to say thank you very much for taking the time to listen to what we have to say, the Marketing Mayhem Show.
[00:42] So What Is It All About?
Well, I’ve decided to do this podcast and put it out there because there’s a lot of confusion when it comes to marketing. A lot of the business owners that I talk to and a lot of my clients, they really just confused about what tactics they should use when they should be using them and the goals that they should be trying to do.
So I decided to create this podcast to take, that confusion, that mayhem and that craziness out of your marketing and make it easy.
[01:16] The Goal
Now the goals of this podcast are the same things that we work at all the time on Rapid SEO Expert and that is the three key areas are to get you found online and once you been found online, we’re going to take those leads and help you convert them to sales, but it doesn’t just stop there.
Once you have converted someone to a sale, we need to then implement some advanced automation and the purpose of that advanced automation is so they keep coming back and they buy from us again and again and again.
You can expect a lot of case studies. You can expect theory. Sometimes it’ll be really high strategic, 30,000 foot overviews. There’ll be times where we’ll be getting into the nitty gritty of things and and going right down into a particular topic so that you can get the most out of it and be able to implement it straight away.
But the goal of all these podcasts will be so that you can take it away straight away.
Now, whether you are doing your own marketing, you might be a solopreneur. You might be part of a marketing team or you might be a business owner that has a marketing team.
But whether you’re doing it yourself or whether you’re taking it away to get someone else to do it, you have a thorough understanding of what is required of what needs to be done so that you can either do it or brief the staff correctly and you can know if they’re actually doing the job to the correct specifications.
Even with some of my clients that have in house marketing teams and they have, a number of staff working for them. Quite often they don’t actually understand what it is that involved and what needs to be done.
One of the biggest problems they have is that they can’t really supervise the staff or they don’t really know if the staff are working to a good standard simply because they don’t know what’s required themselves. And they’re having to rely on a lot of people. And sometimes that can be really good. But other times that can really bring you into a lot of trouble.
So that’s my goal with this podcast down and dirty nitty gritty information. You can go out and implement straight away.
[03:18] So Who Am I?
Well, I’m a director of Rapid SEO Expert. We are an online marketing company, digital marketing company specialising in SEO and marketing automation.
We are based in Brisbane, in Australia, and as I said before, our goal is to get you found online, convert them into sales, and then use advanced automation to keep them coming back for more.
[03:43] So Why Should You Listen To Me?
Well, I started off in the SEO game approximately 10 years ago. Before that I was a career soldier. I spent approximately 10 years serving with the Fourth Battalion Commando of the Royal Australian Regiment. After that I was recruited into the intelligence community and I worked about the same period of time working in intelligence.
Now I spent a lot of time overseas on operations and when you’re overseas, one or two things is happening. You’re either out on patrol where you don’t have a moment to yourself or you come back onto base and you’ve got a lot of downtime. So basically, you just sitting there and you’re resting and you’re getting ready to go out on patrol again.
So I initially started teaching myself to build websites. I then started looking at the SEO side of it and started learning to rank those websites. When I come back into country, I have friends that had small businesses and I said, hey, can you give me a hand with this and help me rank my website?
And I found that I had a real knack for ranking websites and all of a sudden I’d rank a couple of my friends websites. They’d start telling other friends and it grew and grew and grew.
And eventually I said to myself, well, I’ve got a really good business model here. And it came time for me to retire from the military because my 20 years I could have kept going. But after 20 years the body start saying, hey, we’re getting a bit old and a bit tired for this.
So I decided to follow up and create an SEO agency. So we deal with clients from right across the board. We’ve got clients on a number of continents and we deal from everything from the solopreneur right through to large companies with in house marketing teams and a lot of stuff.
Why should you listen to me? Well, maybe you should. Maybe you should. That’s something that you need to decide because there is no person that fits everybody and a lot of people say,
Oh, you should listen to me because on the person that you need to speak to. Well look, I’m going to be honest. I don’t know you. I don’t know what your goals are.
I don’t know what it is that you wish to achieve, but if you want to follow along with the things that we’re looking at, getting found online, converting to sales and then automating things so they keep coming back and maybe you shouldn’t be listening to me.

[06:04] You Need To Implement
But what I asked more than anything, is don’t just listen, implement. There’s no point in having knowledge without implementation and that’s the big thing. I want to give you the knowledge.
But you’ve got to go out and you’ve got to put the knowledge together and you’ve got to implement it because it doesn’t matter what you know. If it’s not in practice, then it’s not going to work.
So that is the Marketing Mayhem Show. That is our goals. That’s a little bit about me and I’m going to leave it there for today because it’s just an introductory episode, but I really look forward to you tuning in.
